Canadian Ringette Champions

There were three champions crowned at the 2008 Canadian Ringette Championships, the juniors, the Belle and the National Ringette League champions. At the junior level, the perfect host St Albert team (10-0-0-0) beat Ontario (8-3-0-0) 6-5 on a pair of goals by Deja Leonard and Danielle Pronovost. It appears that Ontario defeated Alberta (7-3-0-0) in a semi-final game 4-2 to advance to the finals. The team from Ontario (8-0-1-0) won the Belle championship by defeating Manitoba (7-3-0-0) 3-1. Allison Gabel netted two goals for the Ontario side while Carrie Nash scored the lone marker for Manitoba. Manitoba defeated Alberta (6-2-1-0) 3-2 in the semi-final game to reach the final. In the National Ringette League championship, the Montreal Mission (6-1-1-0), winners of Pool B, were defeated by the Cambridge Turbos (7-2-0-0) in the championship game after the Turbos downed the Calgary Rath (6-2-0-0) 6-4 to decide the Pool A winner.
